NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a meeting of Eccleshall Parish Council Events Committee will be held on Wednesday 1st May 2024, Eccleshall Community Centre, following the meeting of the Planning committee.
1. Apologies
2. To approve the minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday, March 6th 2024
3. Working Group Feedback: to receive any working party meeting feedback with regards to research into local groups use of gazebos and other public event marketing materials to determine recommended suppliers, cost and benefits
4. New events
- To consider any proposals for future events and discussion on ideas previously raised

ECCLESHALL PARISH COUNCIL – EVENTS COMMITTEE MINUTES – May 1st 2024
A meeting of the Events Committee was held on Wednesday May 1st 2024 at Eccleshall Community Centre at 8.15pm, following the Planning Committee meeting.
Present were: –

1). Apologies
There were no apologies to receive
2). To approve the minutes of the Events Committee held on 6th March 2024:
The minutes, which had been previously circulated, were agreed and signed.
3). To receive any working party meeting notes and consider proposals:
- There were no meeting notes or proposals to receive at this time. It was agreed that the working group would meet at 6pm on the 23rd July to research local groups use of gazebos and other public event marketing materials to determine recommended suppliers, and consider if the costs will be offset by the benefits.
4). New events:
It was noted that at the September meeting there may be more information on celebrations for the 80th anniversary of VE Day in 2025, where any plans can be considered and approved to give enough lead time for planning.
It was noted that the Church will fly a special commemorative flag for the D-Day commemorations in June, purchased by the Eccleshall Guide.
Members discussed the Holy Trinity Christmas Tree Festival, and it was resolved to participate in the festival this year, which involves the purchasing of a tree and decorations. The Clerk will add the item to the September agenda for consideration of a suitable decorative theme. It was noted that the tree will need to be rehomed after the festival.
Members considered other potential events including pumpkin and scarecrow festivals as well as a small scale Christmas markets around other events such as the light switch on and Carols around the Tree. Cllr. Hill agreed to speak with the new landlords of the Kings Arms to explore the potential for a local trader event in their car park and will report back.

6). Items for next meeting
Any other items can be forwarded to the Clerk.
7). Date of next meeting:-
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday September 4th, preceding a meeting of the planning committee.
There being no further business, the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 8.40pm.
