EVENTS COMMITTEE AGENDA

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a meeting of Eccleshall Parish Council Events Committee will be held on Wednesday 8th November 2023, Eccleshall Community Centre, following the meeting of the Planning committee.

 

1.     Apologies

2.     To elect a Chairman

3.     To approve the minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday, September 6th 2023

4.     To receive any working party meeting notes and consider proposals arising for events prior to the end of the current financial year.

5.     To receive any updates on the proposal for a beacon lighting event to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day on the 6th June 2024.

6.     To consider future activities for financial year 2024/25 to advise budget planning

8.     Items for next meeting

Date of next meeting – January 3rd 2024, following a meeting of the Policy and Resources committee.

ECCLESHALL PARISH COUNCIL – EVENTS COMMITTEE MINUTES – November 8th  2023

A meeting of the Events Committee was held on Wednesday Nov 8th 2023 at Eccleshall Community Centre at 8pm, following the Planning Committee meeting.

Present were:

Councillor P. Jones (Chairman)              Councillor G. Dale

Councillor R. Taylor                                Councillor D. Hall

Councillor D. Hill                                    Councillor C. Ryan-Bloor

No members of the public

1).     Apologies

No apologies were received.

2).     Election of Chairman:

Cllr. Peter Jones was nominated and duly elected to the position of Chairman.

3).     To approve the minutes of the Events Committee held on 6th September, 2023:

The minutes, which had been previously circulated, were agreed and signed.

4).     To receive any working party meeting notes and consider proposals arising for events prior to the end of the current financial year.

  • There were no meeting notes or proposals to receive at this time.

5).     To receive any updates on the proposal for a beacon lighting event to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day on the 6th June 2024.

This is ongoing and awaiting further information on the event, which is not expected until next year.

6).     To consider future activities for financial year 2024/25 to advise budget planning.

It was agreed to allocate £4,000 to the Events budget, to include the Beacon lighting event and marketing materials (gazebo, tablecloth, pull up banners) for attendance at events such as the street festival. The Clerk will look into costs. The remaining budget will be available for further ad hoc events to be agreed.

8).     Items for next meeting

Any items can be forwarded to the Clerk.

9).    Date of next meeting:-

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday March 6th 2024 at 7pm, preceding a meeting of the planning committee.

There being no further business, the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 8.30pm.
