To consider any event proposals for 2026:
- It was agreed the Council will again participate in the 2026 Christmas Tree Festival. Cllrs. Feneysey and Taylor will make arrangements to deliver the tree to the library on the Monday morning after the event.
- It was agreed to participate in the Holy Trinity Arts Festival eagle installation. Cllr. Taylor will contact the church to see if last year’s eagle can be repurposed with new decorations, confirm the donation cost and if the church will varnish the completed design. Cllr. Feneysey will arrange for the decorating of the eagle, and the Clerk will collate a folder of photos, past and present, to use in a collage.
- The Carols around the Tree event has been booked for Monday 21st
- The Enhancements Committee will be installing a plaque for the two flowering cherry trees planted on the Jubilee Playing Field, provided as part of a Japanese project to commemorate the long-standing friendship between the UK and Japan. Once installed, arrangements will be made for a photo opportunity for a newsletter article and to send to the project lead.
- The committee were in favour of putting together a proposal for an autumn evening event held at the Community Centre. A Country and Western themed evening was a well-received suggestion, with food, live music and dancing. The main hall could hold up to 80 attendees with space for dancing. Cllr. Dale will look at available dates in September and liaise with the Clerk.
