A meeting of Eccleshall Parish Council Planning Committee was held on January 7th 2026, at Eccleshall Community Centre at 7.30pm.

The minutes, which had been previously circulated, were agreed and signed.

25/41469/NDEM -Prior Notification – Demolition of two agricultural buildings. Barn At Wootton Farm Wootton Lane Eccleshall. Prior Approval Not Required.
25/41358/ESS – Screening Opinion – Proposed Outline Application with all matters reserved (except access) for construction of 150 residential dwellings and associated public open space, landscaping, sustainable urban drainage, parking, access roads and associated development. 7/26) Planning Applications for consideration:-
Cllrs. Jones and Reid abstained from voting on planning applications to avoid any conflict of interests due to duties within Stafford Borough Council.
25/41414/HOU – Proposed extension to existing garage to form two additional bays. Rose Cottage Meadow Lane Mill Meece. It was resolved to object to this application in line with the conclusion of the Conservation Officer, that it would result in disproportionate and harmful change to the character of the garage, likely an old smithy. The harm will outweigh the benefit.

- To provide an update on the work to date with Urban Vision Enterprise (UVE) planning consultancy:
Members of the working group will be discussing a draft response for the Bloor homes application (25/41516/OUT) with the consultant on Friday 9th Jan, prior to consideration at the planning meeting on the 21st January. The council has been granted an extension to the original response deadline.
It was noted that the Borough Council portal has been updated and there is now a clearer timeline on the main application page to show the status of the applications.
- Members noted their disappointment that the upcoming Taylor Wimpey planning application has been assessed against the Environmental Impact Assessment Screening checklist by the Borough Council decision and been deemed that a full environmental screening is not required as part of the submission.
- There will be a public meeting of the Save Eccleshall group at Eccleshall Community Centre on the 22nd
